In Their Own Words
Siti Hajar
Ampang, Kuala Lumpur
I came to Mesra Bakti not knowing what to expect. The first conversation was nothing like I feared — it was just two people talking. Noor Azizah listened without making me feel rushed or judged. I left with a clearer picture of my situation than I had in months.

What I valued most was that everything was explained before I signed anything. Rajan went through the agreement point by point and made sure I understood what each part meant. It felt like a fair process — not something done to me, but with me.

Formal proceedings were something I had been avoiding for a long time. When it became necessary, Mesra Bakti handled everything steadily. I always knew what was happening and why. My children's wellbeing was clearly at the front of every decision they helped me make.

Mei Ying made the first contact so much easier than I expected. She was warm and patient on the phone, and made sure I knew exactly what to bring and what to expect. That kindness at the start set the tone for everything that followed.

The care arrangement document they prepared for us was thorough and straightforward at the same time. It covered situations we had not even considered, and both parties felt the outcome was considered and fair. No drama — just a sensible resolution.

I had spoken with another firm first and felt like just another case. At Mesra Bakti it was different — they remembered things I had mentioned in passing, they followed up without me having to ask, and they made the whole process feel less frightening than I expected.

Case Highlights
Stories of How We Have Helped
These accounts are shared with permission and with identifying details changed to protect privacy.
The Situation
A parent in Kuala Lumpur was uncertain about their rights regarding their children's living arrangements following a separation. They had received conflicting information from different sources and felt overwhelmed.
What We Did
We began with a Family Guidance Conversation that covered the relevant provisions of the Guardianship of Infants Act 1961 and what options were available. When the client felt ready, we moved to an Arrangements service and helped both parties reach a workable care plan.
The Outcome
A care arrangement that both parties agreed to and understood, completed over six weeks. The client described the process as far less difficult than they had feared, and said the children settled quickly into the new routine.
The Situation
A client facing formal divorce proceedings had limited understanding of the process and was apprehensive about attending hearings. They needed steady representation and clear communication throughout.
What We Did
We took on the Representation with Sensitivity service, managing all communication with the opposing party's representatives, preparing the case carefully, and attending the relevant hearings on the client's behalf. We updated them after every development.
The Outcome
Proceedings concluded over eleven weeks. The client said they never felt left in the dark, and that the respectful manner in which communications were handled helped keep relations with the other party civil — an important factor given their children.
The Situation
A couple had already decided to separate amicably and simply needed someone to put their shared understanding into a proper written agreement covering financial matters and property.
What We Did
We met with both parties jointly for a single Arrangements session and then prepared a comprehensive agreement reflecting what they had agreed. We flagged a few areas that required additional thought, and facilitated a brief follow-up conversation to resolve them.
The Outcome
A clear, well-structured agreement completed within three weeks. Both parties signed feeling confident they had understood what they were agreeing to. One described it as the most sensible conversation they had shared in over a year.
